BRIDE IS BURNED

Oil Explosion Fatal to Mill City Woman in North Dakota Town

Devils Lake—Sixty hours after the marriage ceremony which united Miss Ida Glinsdale of Minneapolis and Frank Kuntz of Starkweather, a fatal accident occurred at the home of the couple at Starkweather, Ramsey county, which probably will cost the life of the bride, besides injuring the bridegroom.

In lighting a fire, kerosene was used by Mrs. Kuntz. Evidently there were some live coals in the stove when the oil was poured in, for a terrific explosion followed. The woman was instantly enveloped in flames, which burned off all her clothing.

Dr. Fawcett of Starkweather was out of the village, and order to get relief the victim was wrapped in blankets and rushed to Devils Lake. At Garske an accident occurred which put the automobile out of commission and another car had to be brought down from Starkweather.

The patient and her husband is at the general hospital here. Practically the entire surface of her body was burned. Although she is resting easier at the hospital, there is little chance of her recovering.

BANDIT SHOT; OTHER TO PEN

TWO BANDITS FROM FARGO AT TOWER CITY GET SWIFT JUSTICE

POSSES FROM SMALL TOWNS ROUND UP THE TWO IN A PLOWED FIELD

Charles Mauer is near death in a hospital in Fargo today with a bullet in his abdomen, and Roland Ganz, his pal, is under 20 years' sentence for first degree robbery to which he pleaded guilty before Judge Cole late last night.

The two were captured yesterday afternoon when the two posses pursued them after they had robbed William Alinder, Buffalo farmer, thrown him from his car and sped away. Alinder had been hired to drive them from Casselton to Buffalo. He was picked up by a traveling man, notified officials of both Tower City and Buffalo and gave chase. When a tire blew out, posses were able to close in on the two men. Mauer drew a gun but was shot before he could fire. The two men are about 26 years of age.

Mauer came here about three months ago from Chicago where he had been a clerk in the Dearborn Hotel. He sent for Ganz two weeks ago. They had been pals at their old home in Joliet, Ill. Ganz when in Fargo was a piano player with a local orchestra.

Miss Anna Croonquist of Hope accidentally shot herself in the right leg. She, with another lady and two gentlemen, had been out walking and shooting gophers, and the party stopped at the high bridge south of town. Here they were sitting on the bridge and shooting in the water underneath, when in some manner Miss Croonquist shot herself in the fleshy part of the right leg, just below the hip, the bullet going clear through, making a wound about four inches long and barely missing the main artery. She insisted on walking to town, and was only laid up a couple of days, the wound healing nicely without causing trouble.

MAN WAS DRIVEN INSANE

Mandan, N.D., Feb 5—Because the neighbors talked about him and said he was crazy, Henry Langrel, aged 35, a homesteader near Pretty Rock, last night blew off the top of his head with a shot gun. Three days ago Langrel appealed to a deputy sheriff, asking if he thought him crazy. The deputy replied no, but if Langrel wished he would take him to a hospital for examination. Auto-suggestion furthed by the neighbors' talk, is believed by the county officials to have driven the man insane.

She was a half-breed. James Munroe, in the house at the time of the affair, is under arrest.
