Swift Justice

Miss Anna Croonquist of Hope accidentally shot herself in the right leg. She, with another lady and two gentlemen, had been out walking and shooting gophers, and the party stopped at the high bridge south of town. Here they were sitting on the bridge and shooting in the water underneath, when in some manner Miss Croonquist shot herself in the fleshy part of the right leg, just below the hip, the bullet going clear through, making a wound about four inches long and barely missing the main artery. She insisted on walking to town, and was only laid up a couple of days, the wound healing nicely without causing trouble.
