Twenty Two Horses drowned
Steele Herald: H.J. Chambers arrived here from Washington Thursday of last week with two car loads of horses. He started the following day to drive them to his ranch north of town, and while passing Horsehead lake the animals waded out into the lake for water. Twenty-two of the number sank into the mud and water and were drowned.
