Jarves Lake—At the residence of Hans Strand a few days ago, a box of matches which were lying too near the stove, ignited, spreading flames over the entire room. Mrs. Strand, who was alone at the time, used bed clothing as a fire extinguisher and in this way saved the house, but lost a part of the bedclothing.
