The European war came near coming to fatal complications on the Max Henner farm near LaMoure. A threshing crew there was composed mostly of Germans, but there was one among the number who was a Russian. The Russian stood the practical jokes of the other members of the crew until he finally lost his temper, delivered an ultimatum and backed it up with a shot gun. There was a dive for cover and a warrant was sworn out.
