Shot Three Associates
Lead, S. D., Feb. 6.—Jeff Lang, a boy less than nineteen years old, emptied a double-barreled shotgun into the bodies {of} Grace Morrison and two associates in a dance hall in this city last night. None of the girls have died as yet, and may recover. Lang became enamored of the Morrison girl some months ago, and was crazed because of her attentions to another fellow. Lang has not yet been apprehended.

SMITH STIMMEL DIES
Former Fargo High School Football Star Passes Away in California.
Fargo, N. D., Feb. 28.—Smith Stimmel, Jr., son of Smith Stimmel of this city, passed away at California Sanitarium, Belmont, Cal., Wednesday afternoon.
He had been an invalid for several years, his illness being caused from injuries received in a football game in this city.
Several operations were performed on Mr. Stimmel soon after his accident and for a time it was thought he would fully recover, but he gradually failed in health, until the end came Wednesday.
Mr. Stimmel was 29 years old, and was a graduate of the Fargo high school, class of 1902. He is survived by his father Smith Stimmel, one sister, Mrs. Frank Knerr, and two brothers, William and George, who were with him at the time of his death.
George Stimmel will bring the body to Fargo for burial, and funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Hillsboro—One missing finger is the evidence the little son of Andrew Christianson will carry of his narrow escape from death when the Christianson home burned not long ago. His mother rescued him from the flame-enveloped house and his condition was for several days precarious.

HER DEATH WAS SUDDEN
Miss Florence Walters Succumbed to Heart Trouble While Recovering From Operation
Word was received in Grand Forks very early this morning of the death of Miss Florence Walters, chief operator of the Northwestern Telephone company at Crookston. The young woman had undergone an operation last week for appendicitis and was apparently well on the road to recovery. Heart trouble, however, was experienced and Wednesday she began to fail until 11:30 o'clock in the evening when death occurred.
Miss Walters was 31 years of age and had been with the company the past six years. She was quite well known in Grand Forks, having visited here frequently.
