Farmer Drowns Near Mandan
Gus Menke, 64, a farmer living about 15 miles northwest of Mandan, was drowned Sunday night in Square Butte Creek. Menke had started out to visit his brother-in-law, Albert Brundenburg, a neighbor, and had slipped on the bank of Square Butte Creek, a small stream. He fell into a deep hole, however, and drowned. When search was made for him this morning his body was found floating in the creek.
