Ross, the self-confessed slayer of Thomas Walsh at Willow City, attempted suicide in his prison at Minot last week, but the plan was unsuccessful. An attempt was made by relatives to pass eatables saturated with poison into the prison, along with his meals. The plan was tried, but its purpose discovered before any injurious effects.
