Minot Dog Must Die

Court Refuses Appeal

Minot — Wimpy, dog pet of Marlene and Betty Lou Bell, daughters of Jake T Bell, must die or stay out of town.

Ward County Judge Joseph T Funke has dismissed an appeal from a Minot police court order which sentenced the dog to death.

City Attorney O. B. Herigstad asked for the dismissal on the grounds the court was without jurisdiction, and that the ordinance governing the case did not provide for an appeal.

Wimpy was sentenced to death in August on a charge of biting Donald Sanden, 9, a neighbor.

Wimpy was taken to Bottineau.
