Walter South, a youth who lives in
Hettinger county, became broken hearted because a pretty school teacher failed to return his love and tried to kill himself. He returned to his uncle's home late at night, left a note of farewell, secured a big revolver from a trunk and hiked out two miles to a school house, where he tried to pull off the brain-blowing stunt. The gun failed to work and the youth was found in a sad state of mind early the next morning.
