Lightning struck the barn on the A. P. Madson farm southwest of
Ryder, burning the structure, and three head of horses. Mrs. Madson entered the barn after it was struck and called to her husband, who, thinking she was in the burning building, went in to rescue her. She had gone thru
{sp} another door. Mr. Madson was badly burned before he got out and nearly lost his life.
