Through The Head

The Jump of "Jimmy the Kid."

Fargo, Dak., July 1.—Chief Wood, in company of a prisoner called "Jimmy the Kid," who robbed a man on the streets three months ago and escaped to Minneapolis where he was captured and on the requisition of Gov. Ordway was turned over to the Fargo authorities, was on his way to this city in a sleeper on the St. Paul train Saturday night. When Jim was handcuffed he expressed a desire to visit the water closet, the train then being in the vicinity of Fergus Falls. The kid not returning, the chief went to the closet and found the prisoner had pried open the window and leaped out while the train was going at full speed. The train was stopped and Chief Wood made a thorough search without avail. Arriving at Fargo yesterday, a description of the culprit was sent out. It is thought he will be retaken, as the chances are he was hurt considerably.
