The pumping station at Berthold was burned Monday night. George Cross, manager of the Farmers' elevator, was filling the five gallon tank of the gasoline engine used to pump water, and the lantern caused the gasoline to explode. Cross was considerably scorched, but was not badly injured. Other buildings in the vicinity were in danger for a time, but the fire was finally controlled.
