LaMoure — Placing his shotgun in a buggy, Paul Smith was severely injured when the piece was accidentally discharged, raking the two middle fingers on his left hand, nearly severing them. The attending physician believes the fingers can be saved.

An Old Bismarcker Gone.

John Lamplough, an old citizen of Bismarck, died on the 8th of last month at the drug store of D. J. Mailer, Brunsville, M.T. from injuries received by being run over by a freight wagon last fall. His suffering had been intense, but death finally came to his relief.

James Samman, alias James Shannon, committed for 3½ years from Fargo, walked out of the state penitentiary upon the completion of 20 months time into the arms of Chief Martinson of Kansas City, on a charge of arson, the alleged crime having been committed four years ago.

Killed By Small Rifle

Grand Forks — The accidental discharge of a 22-calibre rifle with which the child was playing cost the life of little Fordney Rushfeldt, the 4-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Rushfeldt, 401 Cottonwood Street.

The bullet severed the jugular vein, and the lad was dead in a few minutes after the accident.

Sergeant Powers, Co. E. 7th Cavalry, fell dead last night, at the bar of the post trader's store, at Lincoln. He had just taken a drink and was leaning forward when he fell to the floor. A rush of blood to his head is the English of it.
